ESSENTIAL ITEMS FOR POSTPARTUM MOTHERS
Moms, prepare thoroughly to get ready for the upcoming journey of motherhood!
In the final stages of pregnancy, surely every expectant mother feels both excited and eager to welcome their beloved baby. At this point, many mothers start shopping for items to prepare for the long journey ahead. Besides items for the newborn, expectant mothers also need to shop for necessary items for themselves.
Unlike the baby's items, the mother's items, while not as numerous, are all very essential. Since they are only used for a short period after giving birth, mothers should consider the quantity to avoid waste. Below is a list of indispensable items for postpartum moms; sisters, please refer to it.
Personal Hygiene Items for Mom
Large-size diapers/Postpartum pads: For mothers after both vaginal and cesarean delivery. You'll need about 4-5 pads. Private hospitals usually provide them, but in public hospitals, you will need to prepare them to give to the nursing staff; they will help you put them on after delivery.
Sanitary pads: Also used to absorb lochia (postpartum discharge). If you have disposable newborn diapers for your baby, you can use those and don't need to buy these separately. Or, you can use regular (overnight) sanitary pads, which are also suitable.
Disposable underwear: For use during the lochia period for hygiene. They can be thrown away after use, saving the hassle and lack of hygiene from washing frequently.

Long-sleeved pajamas/comfortable clothes for postpartum mothers: You can buy sets made from soft, breathable fabric, suitable for multiple seasons. Look for ones with nursing access (e.g., zipper/openings) and adjustable elastic waistbands. Mothers should buy moderately priced sets, as they will be worn during a time of sweating, milk leakage, spit-up, and general mess; if they aren't used later, it won't feel like a waste.
Lactation-boosting cereals/mixes: Less sweet cereals usually help mothers avoid excessive weight gain while maintaining good, rich milk quality. Alternatively, mothers can drink nut milk, fresh milk, etc.
Postnatal/Pregnancy Multivitamins: Very necessary for mothers who lack caregivers or cannot get fully nutritious meals. These multivitamins will help mothers recover quickly, ensure a steady milk supply, and improve milk quality. Furthermore, taking vitamins also helps the baby receive nutrients through the mother's sweet milk. It's not only during pregnancy but also after birth and during the breastfeeding period that mothers really need to take them.

Books with Useful Knowledge
First-time mothers surely feel concerned and worried, wondering if they are caring for their baby correctly, how to establish eating and sleeping routines, etc. Besides learning from the experience of predecessors or searching online, books definitely provide valuable information for mothers. Some book suggestions:
(Let Your Child Be Sick? - Title might imply understanding normal childhood illness): Discusses the debate between folk methods and scientific methods in postpartum and newborn care. Very interesting and useful!
(Combo: Raising a Child Is Not a War): If parents want to learn about EASY or sleep training for their child.
(Hello Baby! Mom and Dad Are Ready): Teaches how to care for a newborn. Very concise and easy to understand. I think it's very important; first-time parents should read this.

"The Wonder Weeks" (Tuần Khủng Hoảng): Decodes the Wonder Weeks of your baby - periods when the baby's routine is often disrupted, marking milestones where they learn new skills. The book comes with an accompanying app, also called The Wonder Weeks, which is extremely useful (but in English).
"Secrets of the Baby Whisperer: How to Calm, Connect, and Communicate with Your Baby" (Đọc vị mọi vấn đề của trẻ - likely the Vietnamese title): A comprehensive book about eating, sleeping, and the general activities of a newborn. Very interesting and helpful. Tracy Hogg is also the creator of the EASY sleep method, used to train babies of Hollywood stars when she worked as a nanny. This book explains the importance of routine for babies, how babies typically react and behave. Parents should read it to understand their children and their needs better before diving into applying routine training or independence methods...
Some Useful Phone Apps
Raising children in the 4.0 era makes using apps to manage the baby's feeding, sleeping, rest times, and fussy periods extremely necessary, instead of memorizing or writing on paper, which is quite inconvenient. Besides helping parents track their child's schedule, these apps can also remind mothers about check-up appointments, vaccination schedules, and other child-related matters...
